Hi Ulrich! Can you tell us who you are and what you do?
My name is Ulrich Broger Segantini and, although my name might suggest a romantic 19th-century painter, I actually help fashion companies navigate the (often stormy) waters of innovation, sustainability, and international expansion.
As CEO of b.unlimited SA, my role is part consultant, part visionary, and – every now and then – a strategic firefighter for start-ups and SMEs that want to grow without losing their ethical compass.
Can you tell us a bit more about b.unlimited? What challenges have you faced (and are still facing)? Where do things stand today?
b.unlimited SA was born from a simple yet ambitious idea: to prove that fashion can be sustainable, profitable, and beautiful at the same time. We offer strategic consulting, primarily to emerging brands and companies in the fashion and lifestyle sector, supporting them in product development, building ethical supply chains, and entering new markets.
The biggest challenge? Making people understand that sustainability is not (just) a hashtag, but a real lever for innovation and competitive advantage. And of course, explaining that “100% hemp” isn’t a joke – it’s a revolutionary fabric.
Today, b.unlimited is in a phase of consolidation and careful selection: we work with projects that truly believe in change and want to position themselves authentically and distinctively in the global market. At the same time, we’re expanding our network of companies, creatives, and professionals who share our values and vision. For us, community is a key part of the transformation.
Would you like to have an impact with your work?
Absolutely. I want to help create a fashion economy where quality, transparency, and respect for the environment are not the exception, but the norm.
With b.unlimited, we don't just give advice – we also create tangible projects, like 5styles, a brand that promotes revolutionary, sustainable materials – hemp first and foremost. We developed the world’s first denim made from 100% hemp with minimal carbon footprint and extremely low water consumption. Our goal is to show that fashion and environmental responsibility don’t just coexist – together, they can redefine industry standards.
In Ticino – which is often seen as peripheral compared to major creative hubs – I see huge potential: as a connecting point between Italian culture, Swiss precision, and international openness.
I'd love to help build a fashion economy where quality, transparency, and sustainability are the norm – not the outliers.
And if we could also make consumption more mindful and less compulsive, I might finally sleep peacefully…at least until the next pitch.
Why did you choose Impact Hub Ticino as your place to work? What value does it bring to you?
Actually, I didn’t choose Impact Hub Ticino…it chose me! I was already here when it was still called Spazio 1929 – so you could say I was “inherited” by the Hub. And I’ve never left since. Why? Because it has everything I need: energy, connections, decent coffee, wi-fi that doesn’t let you down in key moments, and a desk that’s hot in summer and cold in winter ;)
But most of all, because it’s a place where ideas mix and evolve. It doesn’t matter if you’re into blockchain, urban beekeeping, or circular economy – at Impact Hub, you’ll always find someone to exchange visions with – or at least a joke.
The greatest value is the human one: knowing you’re part of a community that, besides working, reflects on the meaning of what it does. And that, in 2025, is already a revolution.
